International Athletes 2025

Robby Kelley’s Testimonial:

"Training with QAST was an incredible experience! The terrain and snow conditions were the perfect preparation for the World Cup season. The coaches and athletes were amazing and a pleasure to work with. After my training with QAST, I had my best season ever: winning the ANC slalom title, qualifying twice for the World Cup, and making the US World Championships team."

International Athlete Program at QAST

QAST offers a unique program for international athletes seeking high-quality southern winter training. Each year, we welcome top competitors from across the globe to join our club.

Location:

QAST is based in Queenstown, located in New Zealand’s South Island. Known as the "Adventure Capital of the World," Queenstown offers a variety of thrilling activities, including skiing, white water rafting, skydiving, and bungy jumping.

New Zealand Ski Season:

The ski season in New Zealand typically runs from early to mid-June through early October.

Training Grounds:

We’re privileged to train on two world-class mountains: Coronet Peak and The Remarkables Ski Area. Coronet Peak, one of the premier alpine training arenas in the southern hemisphere, is regularly used by national teams from the Northern Hemisphere. It serves as the primary training mountain for FIS athletes, while younger athletes split their time between Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.

The Race Arena at Coronet Peak features a T-Bar lift running from the bottom to the top of the courses, allowing athletes to maximize their training runs. A café at the base of the lift ensures quick access to refreshments between sessions.

Both mountains benefit from favorable weather conditions, keeping them open for training most days throughout the season.

Application Process:

Due to limited spots, admission to the QAST program is selective and based on demonstrated athletic achievement and the duration of time an athlete commits to training with the club.

We offer a minimum 4-week training block, with the option to extend by adding extra weeks at a weekly rate.

Cost:

Pricing for the 2025 season is still to be confirmed.
